Steve and Cindy Dyson

Married for close to 40 years with 2 sons, 1 daughter-in-law, and 2 grandsons, Steve and Cindy have lived in Southern Maryland (St. Mary’s County) for most of their lives. They also owned a very successful waste management company, Steve Dyson Hauling, which operated in the area for over 30 years. Currently, they are happily retired. They spend most of their free time together at home, sometimes nicknamed “the farm” because of all the animals. Besides the dogs, they also have 1 pet pig, a few dozen chickens, and several ducks. In the past they’ve owned horses, cows, geese, birds, fish, frogs, even prairie dogs! They also have a cabin in Luray, VA, where they enjoy spending weekends hiking with the dogs (that’s where the name Dyson Cozy Cabin Kennels comes from). Their house has an unofficial open door policy, with friends and family often stopping by unannounced for morning coffee, dinner, or simply to say hi.

Our Home

We live in a rural part of Great Mills, MD, part of St. Mary’s County. It is about 1 hour south of DC, 45 minutes from the 301 bridge crossing to VA, and 90 minutes from the Bay Bridge. Steve was born and raised in Great Mills. Cindy moved here from Florida after meeting Steve. Our home is nestled back in the woods with a large field in front of it. The home rests on top of a steep hill overlooking the woods with a stream cutting through the valley. It is the perfect spot for raising dogs: far from the highway, room to run, and fresh water for cooling off!

Experienced Dog Breeding

Cindy Dyson has an extensive history breeding, training, and showing various breeds of dogs. Over the years she has worked with golden retrievers, golden doodles, german pinchers, beagles, collies, rhodesian ridgebacks, labs, dachshunds, and many others. She now focuses on golden retrievers because of their loving demeanors and the joy she sees them bring to her growing family.
